Fateh Sagar Lake said to be the City of Lakes of Udaipur, it is an artificial lake constructed by Maharana in north of Lake Pichola in 1678 and to the north-west of Udaipur. A beautiful lake, overlooked by a number of hills on the three sides and the Pratap Memorial on the north was built by Maharana Fateh Singh. In the middle of the lake is Nehru Park - a lovely garden island with a boat shaped cafe accessible by an enjoyable boat ride. Blue waters of the lake and the backdrop of green has given the soubriquet of ‘the second Kashmir’ to Udaipur town.

Udaipur was listed at the 14th position in the Travel & Leisure (T+L) 2017 top urban destinations. This list is prepared on the basis of World’s Best Awards survey that is taken by T+L readers across the world. The cities are rated on sights and landmarks, culture, cuisine, friendliness, shopping, and overall value. Interestingly, 7 out of the top 15 cities were from Asia. The list of cities was topped by Mexico’s San Miguel de Allende. This is the first time in the 22 year history of awards that Mexico’s San Miguel de Allende has been awarded the top spot. Dudh Talai The Doodh Talai Lake is located very much near the center of the Udaipur City.It is around 24 km away from Udaipur Airport, and just 4 km from Udaipur City railway station and Udaipur City Bus Depot. Visitors can also take local Tongas, auto-rickshaws and taxis to reach Doodh Talai. Doodh Talai lake shares a common link road with another picturesque attraction Lake Pichola. Doodh Talai is surrounded by small hillocks which hosts Deen Dayal Upadhyay Park, and Manikya Lal Verma Garden (or Rock Garden or Musical Fountain Garden) Doodh Talai Lake provides few options for fast food centers, camel and horse rides and boat ride.
